I never knew friends like you before
And don't know if I will again.
You meant a lot to me,
Thanks for being my friends.
We went through a lot together
Had some good times along the way.
Then came the day
I had to leave,
I wish I could have stayed.
We use to gather at my place
All of you and I
Drinking, laughing, and joking
Late into the night.
We use to go to the club at times
No reason but to get out.
And do our best to try and forget
Just what it was all about.
I really enjoyed your friendship.
I guess that I still do.
There are times I find myself
Wishing I was back with you.
I really miss the times, guys
And wonder if you feel the same.
But we must go our seperate ways
And only our memories remain.
I wrote this poem, to let you know
In my own special way
Just how much you meant to me
Each and every day.
I would like to see you all again
Somewhere down the line
Get together and try and remember
All of our good times.

Written for some of the best friends I have ever had.
I served proudly with them in the U.S. Air Force. You know who you are.

You remind me of what I try not to forget every day, the men of the United States Cavalry whom I cherish as friends and brothers.
