Tell My Children

If something should happen
To me tonight
Please tell my children
That it will be all right.

Tell them about me
And the love I had.
How honored I was,
To be their dad.

If something should happen
And my time slipps away.
Please tell my children
That I am ok.

Tell them I will be there
Where ever they go.
And in their hearts,
They will know.

If something should happen
Help them to understand.
Please tell my children
I am in God's hands.

And from my place
With Him above,
I will watch over them
With pride and with love.

(c) Kenn Clark
6-21-98

I wrote this one not long after the birth of my children, when the fear of dieing before they knew me started. None of us know when our time will come and I wanted someway of telling my children how much I loved them, should mine come early.
