Psalm 45 [46]: God Is Our Strength and Shelter!

The Lord God is our strength and shelter,

always ready to help in times of trouble.

We will never be afraid,

not even if the earth is shaken

and mountains fall into the ocean’s depths;

not even if the seas roar, racing with foam,

and the hills reverberate with violent thunder!

Although nations rage and kingdoms are shaken,

although roaring thunders make the earth melt and dissolve,

the Lord Almighty is with us.

The God of Jacob is our refuge, our fortress, our high tower!

Come, see what the Lord has done!

See what amazing things He has performed on earth!

He stops wars all over the world.

He breaks bows, snaps spears into splinters,

and sets chariots on  fire.

He declares: “Stop your fighting and know that I am God,

supreme among the nations, supreme over all the world!”

The Lord Almighty is at our side!

The God of Jacob is our fortress,

our high tower and stronghold!
