Marie was a friend of mine a very long time ago. She wanted to be loved and someone to love her and she died fighting the battle against drug abuse!

Tell me, where has love gone?
People what have I done so wrong?
Sorrow, misery despair follows me,
drugs in my body won't let me stay free!
There must be an answer up there,
dove, on your wings take my prayer!
I will shed a tear or two,
for love there's nothing I won't do.
It is not just an issue of pride,
all that stuff I cast aside.
I am on my way to greater things.
peace eludes me the needle remains!
I search for love on city streets,
John's and tricks are all I meet!
Someday love will meet me,
and in my heart will greet me.
Will take me out of miseries despair,
dove, on your wings take my prayer!
I have a friend who teacher me.
and says hope in the Lord God above,
creator of all things righteous,
good and beautiful,
especially the gift of love.
Please someone my live do share,
dove, on your wings take my prayer!

A very emotional and thought provoking poem. Well done! The Lord will answer your prayer Michael. He has special plans for you. Amen

The drugs may dull the misery, but the addiction only drags down the person into the pit of despair. When it gets that bad, death is the only release. For some, death is disguised as love.

The street is cruel and uncaring. I spent two lost decades walking the mean streets of America. I knew Marie, at least I knew many like her. How I survived I do not know.
