This poem was inspired by two great people in my life. One is the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama The other is a lady very dear to me, my mother!. After hearing the president speech at the Memorial in Tuson. AZ. January 12, 2011 about the evil and the good and the potential of America and it jubilant spirit, concerning the tragedy and senseless deaths: and wounding of congresswoman Gabrielle (Gabby) Gifford
I was compelled to write.
What will you bring to the table this year
joy, laughter, a smile, a tear.
A pity party or degradation,
hope, promise, exaltation!
Bring many smiles and cheers,
we can't undue yesteryear.
But what we can bring to the table,
a willing heart ready and able.
A mind awaken from the dead,
liberated by what the Word of God said!
Willing to fly to worlds unknown,
landing gracefully around the throne.
Love your nation, family, sister, brother,
pray for your enemy love one another.
Believe in all the good that you can do,
the angels will help to see you through.
Spend more time commune with God,
we are the new saints the paths we trod
Do right even when it feels wrong,
it is the right that makes a heart strong.
Don't hide the beautiful you that's in you,
Be confident in all the things you do.
Remember brothers and sisters kings and
you are the new birth sealed and redeemed!
A new year, a New You?
