Deliver me, Lord, from life’s vicissitudes
Grant me, Lord, sustenance and fortitude
I commit my soul to you, my creator
Keep me from harm’s way, my mediator
Teach me to be humble and compassionate
Lift up my heart to those less fortunate
Grant me, Lord, your infinite grace
Wash away my sins with your sweet embrace
May I walk with you when my body grows weary
Take away my pain so that I see more clearly
You are my rock and my redeemer
Show your glorious kingdom to this believer
I eat the bread and drink from the cup
Gathered with all who’ve come to sup
At your table prepared for many
Who choose to repent with nary a penny
Your steadfast love binds us together
A community of faith cling to the same tether
Surround my soul with warmth and light
Commit my spirit to you tonight
Prepare your servant for that magnificent day
To join my brothers and sisters who surely strayed
But live in perpetuity by your immutable mercy
Let there be no doubt nor controversy
