My Love...In a Faraway Place, but nearer than ever, gently reminding me of a solemn promise made...

 Faraway Love

Just when I thought the Garden of my Heart was still and quiet again,
the same one I told you in those final days I would keep forever beautiful for you,
You appeared in my dreams, warm, real and so youthful and Spring-like, you took my breath away,
haunting me with your soft brown eyes,

your smile reminding me all over again of the wondrous depths of our Love -
the perfect harmony we were working towards, and the solid comfort of deep familiarity.

From a Faraway Place you asked me to open up my Heart to Love again, and I have tried so hard,  only to find myself falling in Love with you all over again,
ching with wanting you near me,
Just to hold you and tell you how much you meant to me, will always mean to me...

The precious photos around me bear witness to all that we were, still are, for Love is an eternal energy that can never die...
You are my Faraway, but ever-new True Love,
the perfect missing jigsaw piece for my full Heart, that you alone can fill.

And then I remembered.....

Just before you left you asked me with a look in your eyes I shall remember always...

"to keep on writing, whatever happens"
to tell the story we would have told together,
about our Love, our Life with all its mysterious happenings, and the momentous journey we travelled together,

and taking your hand in mine, I promised..

but grief and sadness have held me back,
along with fear of the unbearable piercing pain of  fresh loss filling my days again...

But now I understand why you have filled my dreams once more... a gentle, coaxing reminder of that solemn promise made on your last day upon this amazing Earth, when a glorious Rainbow filled the sunlit sky through the softly falling rain ,and you held a Passion flower in your open hand

Stunning but simple and apt metaphors of your Life...

but I will my Love,
the time is right,
The day has dawned

And so it begins.....

You are so blessed to have fallen in such a love Diana. True love never dies. Cherish every moment you had with him and know that he will be waiting for you in the gates of paradise someday. This earthly life is not forever but a journey to our very happy eternal home. He is happy at home waiting for you. Be happy and enjoy every remainder of your days in this journey! Love and hugs. Beautifully expressed! I am glad that he made you promise to write. Writing is cathartic and will heal your heart...leaving treasured memories in the wake of pain. Love is everlasting--eternal. Until you meet again, I will enjoy the thoughts of your pen.

I am near speechless,.............but I think that to be able to start again is beautiful. When love comes calling, even if it is a beggar or thief or liar, love is a pearl claimed from the greatest sea and shall not, cannot be released back into its depths, For if you throw back the pearl, it would be your own heart that you toss into the fathoms. Even if you lose your way in time, and your heart and soul grieve until you are lost and weak, you must go there, without it there is nothing except memories that keep us from this moment and the future.

What a beautiful piece!!!
Instead of fighting the grief, it is as you say better to keep the love even at the cost of pain, to let the grief have it's way with the heart. I love how as you write you communicate with this dear person who has died, and in that way stay fully connected.
I understand in my own way, Diana, I have not lost a partner, but have lost both of my extraordinary parents within several months of each other, and the pain has left me just grieving and stunned. Grief is proof of how much we love.
Bless you,

Oh, Diana, how you have touched my very soul with your lovely words in this heartfelt piece. I have read it time and again, and each time I do, it touches me all the more. If all who have lived and loved could experience the depth of your love and devotion, what a wonderful world this would be. I have savored all your works over time; however, "Faraway Love" shall remain with me throughout the days and months to come. I have read all your reviews regarding this piece, and I find each to be a testament to the beauty of your words. May your days ahead be filled with an abundance of thoughts for all to enjoy. You are the best.

With love,

Stunningly beautiful and poignant, you have put into words what I thought could not be expressed, the mutual and unequivocable love that burns intensely between two people brought together by the hand of fate.

The intensity of the longing and ache spills over on the page.

This poem speaks of your yearning for reconnecting with your love who was lost in that “faraway place.”

These words speak from a ripened spirit about a ripened spirit, a two-fold power not diminished by half. Whole. There is such a taste of wholeness for me in Faraway Place that it seems to contradict its name. So clearly you take the whole towards the new; the whole goes with you. ~~ Diana

Diana, now can you see the beauty within your heart how it aches to pour out onto the page? It is more than a promise made but the need to continue that momentum that love has inspired. The beauty of that love can never truly end.

Sadly, full hearted love may never leave us no matter how hard we might try as the thought of one dearly loved is as a constantly repeating line or verse of a song that repeats and repeats within our mind. Sometimes deeply true love can never vacate that place in our mind and heart.
Sad, but good poem, my friend.

This has moved me deeply, Diana. It's a tribute to the strength of your love, to the stature of your Beloved and to the justified trust he placed in your soul-deep union. "And so it begins..." - indeed it does. You are blessed to have a continuum of relationship that some can only dream of. Thank you for giving life to those dreams! Bless you and onward you go! :)) Love always, Kate xx

Excellent! I would suggest that all those photos and mementos you have near you that they be lovingly replaced with something to keep the eyes from haunting you, Diana. You can still love forever, and you can still write the story. In fact, I have a feeling that the story can be written even better without all that one-on-one editing from the photos, etc.. You know what I mean I think. Be yourself! Always keep your love strong, but I doubt even he would expect you to hold him up in shrine-like reverence.
