What is today will be the past. We hope our dreams are here
to last. Somehow life has been so kind. Imagine us without
a mind. Life for most has been so plain. Imagine us without
a brain.
There would be no schools, no Harvard, Yale; no final exams
that you might fail. No gangs, no riots, not even guns. No
telethons to raise some funds.
No political race, no general election. There'd be no way to
show affection. No Bush, no Clinton, not even Kennedy. No
cure for flues, not even a remedy.
No race in space to land on Mars. No boats, no trains, not
even cars. No Al Capones, no clever criminals. No hypnotic
doctors who give subliminals.
No jails, no courts, not even a judge. No German chocolate,
not even fudge. No candy stores with wide variety. No rehab
centers to pursue sobriety.
We wouldn't have a nuclear missile. The police wouldn't even
have a whistle. No jobs, no boss, no one to fear. Budweiser
wouldn't have a beer. No way to worry about your fate. No
profound thought to contemplate.
