Come Dance With Me
What Can I Say?

Just an ordinary day,
moms and dads go on their way.
They kiss their kids and wish them well,
and go off to uncertain hell.
Working to provide a need,
for their families mouths to feed.
The air is shattered with a blast,
memories seen of their past.
Fear and panic take their toll,
to get out safely is their goal.
Many voices heard to cry,
for so many loved ones, time to die.
Rescue workers on hands and knees,
gently sift through the debris.
Everyone touches the pain,
the angels mourn with tears of rain.
Someday the sun will shine and then,
may we never experience this again
cr 2001 Kathy I Austin
September 11th, 2001, was a very sad day for America, and for mankind. I like many others mourned the loss of many things. The poeple who died, the freedom and security that we lost, and the lack of peace in the world. This was one of three poems that I wrote about that terrible day. It has been published in one anthology, one CD Poetry Collection, two E-zines, and will be in my up coming book.
