Faraway places call to me
across the mountains,
across the seas.
Places with charms I cannot explain.
I've lived in Spain, land of delight
Hot drowsy days
Soft lovely nights.
Part of me wanted to stay.
Three years in Germany, not too long
it was a time of love and song
I yearn to return, and stay awhile
It always mades me smile.
Other places I have not seen
still call to me in my dreams
Scotland, Ireland, Wales
hiking the hills and dales.
Swimming in the evening sun
watching dolphins having fun
Hawaii, you make my heart yearn
living there, I would not spurn
Faraway places, seen and unseen
I want to be there,
not just in my dream
the question is where.
I cannot choose just one
I want to see them all
so, when my life is done
I have answered their call.

|I find this poem so honest, I have actually been to places and felt the same way, it is very touching.|
