I am tired of watching communities fall apart. Just my opinion of some things that I saw while taking a drive.

today I got stopped by a homeless man

needing a helping hand

gave him a few bucks, told him I understand

it saddend my heart as I got in my car, I had to stop and pray

glanced accross the street at the park where the children play

drug debris, trash and glass were everywhere, does anyone care?

why do the children have to play in a park that adults would fear?

across the street the corner was filled with teenage boys

talking loud, being ignorant making noise

blocking the entrance to the chinese store

degrading a girl passing by, calling her a whore

the worst part is that she stopped and gave one her number

I stared in disbelief and began to wonder

a neighborhood with such neglect

young boys  with no respect

young girls with no self esteem or self respect

Am I the only one this bothers, what the heck?

Vivid and realistic. As a society, we tend to look the other way these days. It's too bad. Great poem, Melony.

A true depiction of what is happening everywhere these days, sad as it may be....

Great poem! And people wonder why God cries. He sees his creation and he weeps at what we have wrought.
