I was Humpty

                              Sometimes feeling more dumpty

The Fall,

                     It broke me

My fall;

I was broken

And I cried:

“My wound is as deep as the sea!”

Everyone came to the

                 Wall

To see my fall,

To see my wound.

Shaking their heads,

Not seeing what lay

Hidden under the shell.

The Verdict:

NO HOPE.

And I cried:

“Who can heal me?”

Of course the men and horses

                      Left me.

And I cried:

“I have no one but you!’

And I cried.

I lay there stuck against that wall,

Not able to roll

Either backwards

Or forwards.

Not able to do a thing.

But I began to sing:

“Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,

While sitting on her wall.

Not one of the king’s horses and

Certainly none of his men

Had a clue

How to put her right again…..

…..but the King,

      but the King,

            but the King….”

And now I have a new name.

You may call me Beaulah.
