PHOENIX OF LOVE

BURNT FACES IN DARK PLACES
REMNANTS OF A RAGING FIRE
DUST TO DUST, ASHES TO ASHES
MEMORIES LIKE LIGHTNING FLASHES
A BREIF MOMENT OF DESIRE

GONE IN A BLINK OR SO WE THINK
AS THE SMOKE CLEARS, WE SIFT THROUGH
WHAT APPEARS TO BE OLD FEARS

SEARCHING IN VAIN IN AN EFFORT TO CONTAIN
THE SPARK WHICH MAY RE-IGNITE
LOVE LIKE THE PHOENIX REBORN-REUNITES

DESPITE OUR RELUCTANCE TO FEEL THE FLAME
OUR PASSIONATE HEARTS STILL CRY
EACHOTHERS NAME
IT’S OUR STRIVE-TO FEEL ALIVE

IT’S ROOTS DEEPLY BURIED, IT’S STEM IN A HURRY
TO PUSH ABOVE AND FEEL THE WARM GLOW OF LOVE
GRASPING TIGHT THEY TAKE HOLD, THE CYCLE BEGINS
AND THE PHOENIX OF LOVE UNFOLDS AGAIN AND AGAIN

So, Richard, that uncle of you gave a few Musketeer's drops of blood and that romanticism that will take you a long way in the ladies world as well as in the literary.
Like your uncle said, a touch of that old libido doesn't hurt, that's of course if the wife doesn't read it, then, Duck my friend, that's another can of beans! ! !

I can relate to this so deeply. As, of now in my life, love does not exist, but the memories do, when i did have it. Some day, I am sure I will find that feeling again.
Welcome to AD, and hope you have many reviews and look forward to reading more of your work

Richard,
This poem envelopes the climax of love and spiritual enlightenment. I loved the way you used the capital letters to really grab the reader.
Nicely done.
Peace, love, and light,

Darn, I had to read again after seeing William's comment...still don't see "erotica"; but do see a deeply passionate poet who can express his feelings...and that's good.
