The first poem I wrote in a series of 5 I decided to write at midnight for some peculiar reason.

Where have all the heroes gone?

The sons of sagas

The braves of ballads

The paladins of poetry

Dragon-slayers

Princess-rescuers

Treasure-finders

Kingdom-savers

Because the only heroes I know

are the ones that go unseen

And the only dragons slain

are the ones we fight every day.

But sometimes the dragon wins.
