A sure way to gauge how troops feel about their situation is the grafitti found on the latrine walls and other flat surfaces. Some grafitti is sexual in nature, but during the Vietnam War, a lot of it was political. Some contained elements of both such as these popular short works written just before the presidential election in 1972.

Why change dicks in the middle of a screw, vote for Nixon in seventy-two.
