On reflection

Totally Yours

He told me I was gorgeous
And not to change a thing
I said perhaps I should...
And he said no, not a thing
Then he took a plane
And met me here
It was a long flight from LA
To London
But I did not fear
For I knew already
it was too late
I could never meet my soulmate
No not from LA

It was too far from Heaven
And I had died a thousand deaths
It was a long wait
And I had already waited too long
To me he had come too late
Yet I succumed to his kiss
Could I get accustomed to this?
And just like a movie star
He picked me up and carried me
Through the air
And landed me gently
Somewhere
Far from LA

I then took a plane
To meet him again
By then it was Spring
and Winter had passed
We had spoken in Summer
And bonded in Autumn,,,
so I had thought
But his heart was taken
by someone else
I was mistaken
Being in LA

We both missed Winter
together
And we will never
meet again
I could not go through
all that pain
The lies, the doubt
the subterfuge
My heart was huge
But he was playing it small
And I guess
He wasn't the total package
after all.
