____Though the poem ended up sounding as if it is addressed to a woman, I wrote it with both sexes in mind. Men are abused, too! Percentage may not be as high -- hard to tell because of under-reporting -- but it happens a lot. As for child abuse, don't get me started!! Thank all creation for organizations such as Angels That Care and anti-domestic-violence fighters like my friend, ATC head Marcia Duning. Peace and Good Will, regardless of season. 'Pea ---- Marcia calls me Pod....cool, huh._____________________________________

Walk away. Let your heart pound. Let your palms sweat Let your blood roar. Let chills and fever have their way. Let panic shriek and sob, then sneak what you cannot live without – babies, tees, diapers, bread, tampons -- for a time, then call a shelter, call a friend, then Walk away.

A very painful and sensitive subject, Pea - but a power packed message. Don't we just wish that all abuse victims had the strength in them to walk away? Wonderful advice, Pea!
God bless,
Sandie. |

God Bless you, Pea. This poem should appear on billboards across-country with great big shining letters. It's hard for many to know it really comes down to that. "Walk away." And that's that.

Deep and powerful reminder and especially at this time of year when the winds blow cold and mothers have to think first of their childrens safety and therefore their own. Abuse should be a higher offence with a 0 tolerence rule attached.Good write Phylis
