Sorry I haven't participated more. Understand better when you read the poem. Less poetic license involved than is usual with me. 'Fish sticks and Shake'n'Bake' 'sigh' again. Latest thing to break down was the vacuum cleaner. Only about 2 years old.

Expect even those of you who don't observe December holidays can relate. Not exactly in the customized private jet and winter holiday in Gstaad {sp?},
are we?

Hope to get back to routine s o o n. Writing's been close to impossible, 'tween one disaster 'n 'nother.

Sorry. I'll stop whining now. Here an' kickin', ain' I?

Best of Luck to You and Yours,

Notso Po Pea

Please sign the petition  I am sending around
to stop November from sabotaging. . .stuff.
Cars choke,  plumbing backs up, blenders grind down.
Don’t know about you, but I have  had enough.

If you live where December is just another month,
November is probably kind.  Here, it’s eggnog, holly,
and goodies on Hanukkah.  Fa-la-la-la – ker-plunk!
To curb spending’s one thing, but let us be jolly.

Food costs, and heat.  Gasoline has gone out of sight.
Bill for this, bill for that.  Give us a break!
Both our pc’s went pfffffft.  Battery in the van. . .sigh.
Dinner, got your fish sticks or your Shake’n’Bake.

You wouldn’t believe the list I’ve got.
Toilet leaks! Mr. Coffee and a light fixture died!
While in mourning, I am not,
To have one thing go right would be nice.

Family and friends will come smiling our way.
Pay for all this, er-ah,  junk, somehow.
But an 11-month year would be great.
On my way to have me a lie-down now.

Boy do I understand this one Pea, I just am beginning to come out on the other side...there is hope, believe me. Love the humor in this one, that is what will help get your through.

Damn those Caesars. Had it not been for Julius (July) and Augustus (August) December would be the 10th month. Why we could have two Halloweens! Wouldn't more chocolate help you get through the dreck?

NO WONDER BETTY BOOP HAS THE LOOK OF TERROR ON HER FACE! COME ON MRS. SCROOGE (SMILE), STOP IT. GET WITH THE GROOVE...DECEMBER IS A WONDERFUL MONTH. PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE GOBE, WHO DON'T EVEN KNOW ONE ANOTHER ARE UNITED IN A BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT...TO CELEBRATE THE CREATOR IN THEIR OWN WAY AND BELIEFS. I CAN'T GIVE ANYONE A BIG GIFT...I CAN'T AFFORD IT BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT...IT'S ABOUT SHARING WHAT YOU CAN BUT MOST ALL...IT'S ABOUT LOVING AS GOD LOVES US. STRANGERS...WISH EACH OTHER SEASON GREETINGS...THEY CAN'T HELP IT...IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR. I LOVE DECEMBER AND DOWN DEEP INSIDE...SO DO YOU! THANKS FOR THE VENT THOUGH AND GOD BLESS.

Well done my friend, I know what you're saying, my daughter just lost her baby-sitter, if she can't find a sitter she'll loose her job, she had a total wreck, thank God they're okay...but it's really rained on her and when it rains on our children, might as well be us...I too got my huge tax bill, and then got a notice from the IRS that we owed nearly 500.00 more on our taxes from last year...so in a way it's rained on us too! Well done indeed!
Blessings from Ky.

Pea,
As I said in my comments on J'nia's poem, always keep Murphy's First Law in mind, and a few candles and a flashlight handy. What I like most here is your ability to rise above irritation, see the funny side if you will, but it's never funny at the time, a bloody nuisance. Easy on the eggnog and don't spend too long under the mistletoe.

Count me first on that petition. =] Oh, this is precious - even in the midst of 'one disaster after another,' your humor still shines. And God, we need that. Only thing is the holidays will be bunched closer together than they are now ... and the older I'm getting, the quicker the days/years go b(u)y. Know what I mean? *sigh* Can't win - unless we laugh. Got to to keep our sanity intact. Well done, my friend, I miss you!!!!
