More into dogs, but cats are fascinating, aren't they? Friend has a Maine Coon [hope I spelled it right] that is a real looker. She's very affectionate, but her adopted sis raises her hackles and stalks off. Practically hear her say, "BO-ringgg." {Cats have hackles? Never thought about it.' Hope you enjoy this bit o' fluff. That it resembles a sonnet! :)

Point me to the sign-up sheet for being reincarnated to a cat
Smug, sleek, satin-soft, and unflappable as a dime-novel gumshoe.
I crave whiskers dripping cream, and eyes able to fix on a gnat.
I want humans to laugh so hard, they forget they were ever blue.

In Japan, we cats are known as tigers that eat from the hand.
These reptilian, dark-piercing eyes can stare down a guard hound.
Funny?   Can you spell circus?   Clowns are in far less demand.
Slight-of-paw artists: blink, poof!   Blink, back without a sound!

Sphinxes hail back to feline gods clawed and spat old Egypt-style.
Cat mummies got catnip, toast tips, and cream of mouse bisque.
Kill a cat, pfffft!    Injure one, wind up in some dank prison’s file.
Still rule, of course.  Move in, own.  Might allow a tousle or kiss.

Note: the cat that follows my demise will require breakfast at eight.
She’ll have a lot of bird-watching to do, so do not be late.
                                                                                          --Capice?

Wonderful. A cat isn't adopted, they "choose" where they will live and you're lucky if you're approved. lol. Love it. Liz

I like both cats and dogs, and thankfully, there is usually peace between them in our ever expanding household. We have a Huge Maine Coon I found living in a dumpster behind a factory. He's gained tons of weight since I brought him home, so we now affectionately call him 'Fat Louie.' And he absolutely loves Belly Rubs, just like our dogs!

"...and cream of mouse bisque"
like the sound of that; the Romans served mice
at meals but i'm not sure they knew how to make bisque...
but i digress from this witty, elegant piece you so modestly
refer to as 'fluff'. And what a photo!
Made my morning, Pea, you did.
