Night tiptoes in and wraps a blanket around me,
and tears finally come.

Night pats my face dry and turns my pillow
to the cool side.

Night waits for me to stop thrashing,
then softly sings me to sleep.

Night sweet-talks rain into whispering
dreams in full color of friends, new and old.

Dawn shuffles in in slippers and a hot pink robe,
and we all join hands and run out to tell her hello!

Excellent. Night does indeed creep in upon us whether we want it to or not, just as the dawn does whether we want it to or not. It's all in what we make of each situation, but somehow, the night is always the loneliest for many - and yet can be the most true.

I liked the phrase of "night tip toeing in". It surely does that as sleep and dreams come on moon lit nights...M

All those reviews, and now I am here looking for words that won't mimic another's. I'm so tired and was looking for the "just-right" poem to bid me goodnight. This one is so special, inviting me to delay no more, but hustle into bed and enjoy another God-given night.

Sweet, Pea!
