Sometimes getting rejected is a good thing...

thank you for not using
the power you have over me
to play another song of tragedy
with my heart strings

thank you for keeping
a good safe distance
in this instance
to prevent future weeping

my disappointment
i will get over
i will find another
who wants a commitment

and i hope that one day
you will find
some of like mind
who only wish to play

but i'll tell you a secret
the key to my success
from undress to dress
is love without regret

no technique can substitute
for desire to touch
that intense clutch
is impossible to prostitute

once standards are raised
and you've felt the sacred
that hot sweaty naked
for which gods are praised

you won't find it elsewhere
not a fool such as i
no more blind an eye
most never get there

because it is holy
it's sure that i'll find
one who is kind
and will love me wholly

so thank you for leaving
my heart free
as well as my body
so i can keep believing

Now that is a Thanksgiving prayer...
And never stop believing in yourself.
Really a splendid work...draws the reader in beautifully.
