Someday we will set our feet on another planet. Will we do better in the next world than we have on this one?

Far across the distant, blue horizon
Our destiny is waiting for the call.
Beyond the light and influence of my sun
There is all.

Slowly we approach the day of power
Enough to take us to another sky
And if we work together on that hour
We will fly.

======
Chorus:
A new day is breaking
With new dreams we are waking
And the possibilities have no end.

To the stars we are going
And our knowledge is growing.
Our resolve is strong, and it will never bend.

I just hope that who we find out there's a friend.
=======

Our history is plagued with bad decisions
Made to garner wealth for but a few.
Causing strife, the bondage of division
We still do.

If we find another world of people
Someone looking different but the same
Will we overcome our past evil
Or bring shame?

We must bring an end to times of war and
Killing people who don't play our game
Lest we venture to another world and
Do the same.

(Chorus)

Voyager by John H. Bidwell - Another great work about exploration.

Excellent song. I think someone should record it -- I'm serious. I don't care for many of the artists and groups recording nowadays but I think the 1970s group ELO would be perfect for this song. They released an album not long ago.
Nubianne, you capture the manifest destiny well in these verses.
As for me I'm a big sci fan, and I plan to beat Han Solo in a sabacc game so I can fly the Falcon.
"I'm going to be the first one to see them all" Anakin Skywalker to Qui-Gon about visiting all the planets in the galaxy.

Nubianne,

They both are excellent works Yours and Johns this one is so in depth and gave hope of that new place beyond blue horizons I loved it.
