Written on another night of insomnia that I can at least take some solace in its becoming annoying...

to get a night's sleep
i must face the moon
the mask of light
the mask of darkness
the fact of both's inner coldness

to get a night's sleep
i must determine to face the dawn
find something for which to awaken
my daughter
my me

to get a night's sleep
i must not become a lie
for if i lie
but do not sleep
the truth will rest beneath my eyes

to get a night's sleep
i must release the illusion
that you ever cared
but just made a mistake
in sending me away

to get a night's sleep
i must find the z'n in this
realize that my pain is an illusion
as my love was an illusion
as the you i loved as well

Serene and natural but also surreal. Very nice.

Agree, it has a razor's edge. I love that last stanza.... it packs one hell of a punch... I enjoyed the jolt.

Thanks,
