Through the eyes of Renoir
I had painted a hole in my life
All that was imprinted in my fragile memory
seemed so hazy and not very clear
I can only attest to what embe dded in my heart
Emotions of crystalline clarity
The pristine hue of innocence
The bleached side of ignorance
Painted bold with a shade of opaque life
The images in my mind were blurred strokes
Brush marks running across October’s pride
A two dimensional home with nostalgic accents
One filled with the laughter of children
Fine furniture without a fingerprint
That no one but dust was able to enjoy
Echoes in the dim hallway bouncing
The bedroom spun too fast in the darkness
I would fall asleep at the drop of an atom
And nothing from that point made sense
When I awoke it had all disappeared
The hallways were empty
The closets were all bare
But the memories continued to linger
All as if it were only yesterday
But the visions are faded and cloudy
As if I were seeing it all once again in silence
Through the eyes of Renoir
Hazy, smeared and blended together
A puddle of mud filled with salty tears
My head in my palms at the edge of yesterday
Splattered paint was a daily decoration
Hanging like a painting from my heart
An empty soul moves around the room
Aimless and without inspiration
A cold draft blows through the window
But I can no longer feel the chill
Not until love would enter my heart again
