This is something about how we fend ourselves against an uncaring universe.

Cold Calculations

Warm sentiments locked inside cold calculations
Soft centers wrapped by calcified coatings
Are these the crux of the human condition?
Emotions entwined within uncompromising rules
Setting unveering courses that must be followed
Are these the instincts hidden in our thoughts?
Blinded to the futility of our endeavors we seek
Legends from the past of whom great stories are told
Through their examples we create new equations
Undoing the rigid numbers that are up against us
We shield ourselves and grasp at the untenable
And firmly believe that our answers will come
Once we shed the realms of physics and mathematics
And enter into a world governed by hope and faith
Where our sentiments overcome cold calculations
And we convince ourselves that we are something
Despite the irrefutable evidence that we are not

Ah, the grind. The longing. The surface image. The depth. But we are, indeed, something - we are Everything . . . and Everything is Us. The Great One Unfolding. Beautiful!
