I Saw Him Beside Me

I think this is the best and most anointed poem I have ever done. When the Lord gave it to me I stopped and thought about just what Jesus went through in the long hours just before his walk up Golgotha Hill. The physical pain and suffering was unbearable, but his lonely little heart had been shattered into a million pieces because his loving father had turned his back on him. How many of us as parents could stand by their child and hear it cry, "MY GOD, MY GOD WHAT HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME," and not rush forward to help it. Ahhhhhhhhh, but he died for us that we might have eternal life. Thank about it.

I SAW HIM BESIDE ME
By Myrtle Poor (c)

Loneliness drives me to this point
Of wishing I were dead
Thoughts are going round and round
Playing leap frog in my head.

The Lord hears and answers prayer
For I have sent him one or two.
A little voice within  my head,
"Says child I'm here for you."

"Don't let yourself worry none
For I am here to stay.
I know exactly how you feel
For I was in your shoes one day.

It was such a lonely road that day
As I climbed Golgotha hill,
The blood streamed down my face and side
As I strived, to do my Father's will.

He stood beside me there that day
As for you I gave up my life,
And I will always stay beside you child
Through all troubles, pain and strife."

This is indeed a divinely inspired poem. I can see the parallels very clearly. A close connection in feelings between our Lord and His child (you). The choice of title is perfect. Describes the depth of feelings between our Lord and those intimately connected to Him. As it says in Scriptures, we are all one.
