we learn to do limericks

There once was a teacher from York.
All the while she hoped for a dork.
So she sat on a fork.
And cried like a cork
That Crazy, teacher from York.

** Rix

There once was a man from York
All the while he hoped for a cork
So he did the kork dance
and stabbed a hole in his pants
That funny old man from York.

** Ash

There once was a friend from Marsailles
All the while he hoped for sun rays
So he played, and he played
And he played, and he played
That old friend from Marsailles

** Carl

There once was an old man from the beach.
All the while he hoped for a leech.
So he got rusty tweezers
And chased the old gwezers
That dumb old man from the beach

** Josh

There once was a kid from Storke
all the while he hoped for a quark
So he did a quark dance
And got stuck in bold pants
That silly old kid from Storke

** Max

There once was a person from York.
All the while she hoped for a pork.
So she drove a brown boat.
And she smacked into a goat.
That funny old person from York.

** Madison

Please leave the kids a comment - they love to read their own poetry and then see what readers have to say about their work.

PLEASE remember these are 9 year olds.

Lol! I loved these kids! You are all awesome. Thanks for making me laugh today...

There was once a class of six
who wrote awesome limericks
I broke out in laughter

There once was a grade four class
That was taught by a lovely lass
They wrote limericks
That gave us some kicks
Now I'm sure they all deserve to pass

Thank you for sharing your wit and humor via the limerick. Best wishes to all. Love and peace,

Regis (B.C., Canada)

I'm not from York
Never been stabbed by a fork
But I did get a kick
From these wonderful 'licks
Now I'm from New York. LOL
You kids are terrific.

Very funny from a Yorke to a Cork to a dork and a stork. If the teacher had not been present, I'm sure a little dirt would have crept in.
