TO BE POOR

To be poor is to live in the ghettoes
to see your brothers and sisters,
to hear your mother cry
for all the suffering she has seen,
to be poor is like a nightmare
not known if you would have a bed
to sleep in or food to eat
is watching your neighbors move
to a house than to the streets,
sometimes you feel so alone
and want to scream
hoping your life may end
so you would never put your kids
to bed with out anything to eat
but living in the ghettoes has made me strong
it taught me to survive and fight for my rights
some people forget where they come from
and turn there heads
but my dreams are for my children and the people
who have no place to rest their heads,
I shall give than my will to survive and to fight
for living in the ghettoes does not mean to give up
on your dreams but to help your brothers and sisters reach for their dreams

copywriter 2001

I write this for all who had to live the way I did and to let than know that no matter how poor an person can be, never give up on their dreams,
there will always be hard times and people that turn their heads but they are not alone..
JUST DON'T FORGET TO HELP YOUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS
