I write this little note to thank you for the good years
and hope many more may come,
I sit here in my bed thinking about the love we had made,
the laughter we had share,
and also the bad times that came our way,
I think about how we get up and make our bed together,
and how we get dress to go to church
and how we come back home
and feel so much love,
I would never betray this love, no ever give it away,
but take it with me till the very end of my days,
I know you cry each night and I can see the tears you try to hide,
asking why? must it be me that has to say good-bye,
you hold me in your arms
and I can hear the beat of your heart,
I can feel the strength of your arms holding me tight,
and not want to let me go,
but my sweet baby is time for me to say good-bye,
but for now find a true love that can come your way,
someone to make you happy and a life you can share
every day,
for my love I want to leave you with a smile on your face.
