A child's imagination runs away or does it?

Imagine

Imagine a world full of tales and lore

An adventure of life just beyond the front door

A journey into an unknown abyss

A journey that’s shrouded in the cool morning mist

You run into strange beings with tails ten feet long

You think they are dragons but you could be wrong

The dragons or beings go about their own way

As you proceed on your quest for an adventurous day

You come to a sign that points two ways

Both ways show danger so you better be brave

You proceed with caution but you’re not afraid

You’re set for adventure the plans have been made

You grow tired now as the journey’s been long

The signs of danger must have been wrong

When far on a field you notice some motion

Is it for real or merely a notion?

The grass far ahead parts into two

It’s too late to run it’s just it and you

You stand all alone at the edge of the field

And wait for what the parting grass will reveal

It closes upon you at an alarming rate

Your heartbeat rises as you think of your fate

You stop your thinking and you stare at the trees

The trees are swaying like in a stiff breeze

There was no strange being behind the parting grass

It was only the wind a wind with a task

You turn around for home the journey is done

Did you see the shadow behind you in the setting sun?
