This poem is a "haibun" comparing China with the West

virtues
anchors China with the past
West drifts aimlessly

Unfortunately, the Chinese (at least in the cities) worships the American lifestyle and are becoming more like the West. On the other hand, there are eight hundred million Chinese that do not live in the cities.  They don't have access to Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Kentucy Fried Chicken and Starbucks--at least not yet

I'll be sorry to see this series end, Lloyd. This one hits home
with a lot of people. I was going to say "these days" but thst
kind of disrepect for elders may have been around since colonial
days. Great job. -gene.
