I lost my Mama when she was only 39 in a hit run accident many years ago. There's not a day I don't think of her and miss her. Mama, this is for you...
This day is almost over, Mama
But I can't fail to say
While you sing at Jesus's feet
Have a Happy Mother's Day
As a child I never understood
All the sarafice's you made
And all the debts I owed to you
You marked them already paid
As a child I watched you
Sometimes you didn't know
I saw how hard you worked
Making clothes we'd soon outgrow
I'd watch you cleaning clothes
Outside on and old washboard
The luxuries others had in life
We never could afford
You made it look so easy
Raising eight kids on little pay
All the worries fell on you, Mama
While all I did was play
I wish I could have understood
All the burdens you had to bear
I'd have let you know, dear Mama
Just how much your daughter cared
What I'm trying to say, dear Mama
Is a heartfelt THANK YOU
For all your hard work in life
For all the wonderful things you'd do
Every day that passes by
I just miss you that much more
Mama, when its my turn to go
I'll see you standing by the golden door
Till that day comes I'll think of you
And I'm sure from all your kids I'll say
Be happy wrapped in Jesus's arms
We love you, and Happy Mother's Day

|THIS IS MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER MOTHER'S DAY POEM...THIS IS A HEARTFELT OUT POURING OF LOVE, SATURATED WITH GRATEFUL TENDERNESS TO THE MEMORY OF A MOTHER YOU MISS AND TREASURE MORE AND MORE EACH DAY. AND YOUR APPRECIATION FOR HER GROWS WHEN YOU REALIZE WHAT A VERY GOOD AND WONDERFUL MOTHER SHE WAS. I WILL KEEP THIS ONE. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

|Sorry late to this poem, Lindaa. It echoes lovely sentiments. I must say, however, that sometimes one's relationship with one's mother can be a bit rocky. The thing iws, the older I get, the more like her I becime.|

|A beautiful message for your Mama! She knew how you loved her, because that's how mothers are...they can see much more of their children's hearts than the children ever realize.
This must be her high school graduation picture. We all had to wear the "drape" for our pictures in those days. How different from today's grad pictures!

|She always hears you, please know this Linda... in your every thought she is beside you. She is very happy and at peace. She is in a beautiful place.
My mother is there too, I am sure they will visit :)

|If your mother had not been so tragically struck down, she might be alive today, like mine, to read these wonderful words written for her.

A very well written memorial to your mother, I am sure she is smiling.

|Linda, I was reduced to tears while reading your heartfelt offering of love and admiration for your beloved Mother. The feelings you have for her literally shines through your words. God bless your mother and mothers everywhere. One of your very best poems! A keeper.
