Santa, I'm not asking
For much this year
I don't want any toy's
Or teddy's to hold near
Santa, I don't want presents
Wrapped in green and red
I just have one wish, Santa
Before I go to bed

*****************************

I miss my Daddy so much
Since he went to Heaven
Jesus took him to the sky
From the tragedy of nine eleven
Could you talk to Jesus
This I want you to say
Ask if I can borrow Daddy
Just for Christmas day

*****************************

Santa, you can talk to Jesus
God's angel can bring him home
I'll explain to Mommy
We have him just on loan
I have it all worked out
If Jesus will listen to you
I want to see Mommy smile again
After all she's been through

*****************************

It will be hard to let him go
But I won't be sad
I'll just be so happy for the
Christmas day we had
I want to feel him hug me
Just one more time again
I want Daddy to read me a story
Just like he did back then

*****************************

Santa, is that a tear
I see in your eye
Santa, why did my Daddy
Ever have to die...

Your poem has given me goosebumps. How heart-wrenching and how sad that it real for so many children who lost a parent on that tragic day. This plea to Santa moved me to tears. Best always, Elizabeth

So touching Linda. I don't know what's worse, having your dad die and leave you or having him alive and never care or love you at all. I figured out for myself, I will have only one parent to grieve over in death, which is my mother. I'm not going to waste one tear on a man who never was a father. cheers. G
