Nature surrounds me in magnificent beauty.

Beautiful things surround me and I am trapped in awe

Of how the flowers pop from earth and hang from trees in air

I stoop to smell the sweetness, the aroma it enthralls

My senses and my vision are wrapped with kindness there.

The birds in flock delight me, I marvel wings in flight

Are colors of the rainbow each one a different sight.

Hummingbirds do flit around and travel oh so far

To drink the nectar I provide in a hanging jar.

Indigo Buntings dart through the wind in a sea of blue

Dazzling me with tiny wings and chirping, "I see you!"

Mockingbirds and Cardinals and Jays are plenty, too

And Orioles the shade of orange, in flock, not one or two!

I hear the laughter of a child it sends my heart aglow

To know their little voices can put on quite a show.

A smile delights the core of me, it melts my inner soul

To know a child is perfect love, unconditional and it shows.

So many items are on my list of exquisite earthly things

Brought to me in various ways, it literally makes me sing.

To know I am a part of it and all that it can bring

Puts joy in this heart of mine; I am their puppet on a string.

So now, I close this simple poem because I've said it all

As beautiful things surround me and I am trapped in awe.
