When I read all of these poems, the PTSD poem hit me like a rock. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is REAL and it consumes Veterans everyday. I wrote about PTSD in my book, FULL CIRCLE. The picture is Tommy Moon, the Vietnam War Veteran I wrote about.

"Angels vs. Devils" always "Touch Someone"

But the "Hard Part" is "Trusting Feelings"

In "The Dark Corners of My Mind".

The "Gentle Persuasion" is a "Jubilee"

And I am "Grateful" when "The Fire and Ice"

Is "Balance" "Even Within My Dreams".

A "Dark Angel" called "PTSD"

Scrambles my mind "As All Words Are One".

It's like "The Exorcist" is "Telling Me What to Do".

I would like the "Pointless Poisons" to be "Evicted".

So I can have "Peace In A Dream".

"What To Do" with these "Life Changes"?

My "Poor Soul" tells me to "Sleep Tight, My Little Darling"

And, yes, I would give "My Kingdom for A Horse"

So "My Hope Is Never Lost".

I donít want it to "Rain On My Parade"

So I wrote a "Letter To Jesus" telling Him

I am just a "Young Soldier Weeping" and

"I Am Tired of Pretending" and I want to "Wake Up"

I want Him to say, "You Have Returned"

Wow, this one touches the heart, a sadness within these lines. Such a horrible thing PTSD. We had a neighbor once who suffered from this, he too is a Vietnam verteran, he often suffered from terrible flashbacks, I'm not sure what ever happened to him, we moved away when we bought our farm, I've not seen him in a number of year, but think of him often. Great write with a powerful message!
