I walk down the path I'm supposed to be on
That was laid out by fate just for me
One step at a time, I move purposefully on
Just exactly the way it should be

I ran through the meadows of inexorable time
And I played with both memories and hopes
While the voice of experience, my teacher it was
It both showed me and taught me the ropes

I rode through the rapids of folly and fools
And emerged a bit battered and bent
But tossing my head with the brashness of youth
I rode on just to see where they went

And at one time, I flew with the eagles
And I danced on the wild Northern Lights
With a heart that was light as a feather
Oh I revelled in glorious sights

But once more I am back on this path now
Taking comfort from memories of old
Walking slow to the beat of the tom-tom
Heading into that sunset of gold!

Beautiful ...beautiful...well worded write. Oh how this just speaks to me, for I too as most I imagine do, have walked and strayed and yet returned...to this same path...excellently done.
