Restraints were lifted, restrictions tossed,
a weight was shifted, a heartache lost,
a sigh was taken, relief its sound,
and ties forsaken to be unbound.
Knots unknotted and ties undone,
a dream besotted for a battle won,
then steps incumbent
to run...and run...and run.
The harness fell
and all could tell
joy was there to find
and merriment was heaven-sent
inside that lion-cub's mind.
Giggles wriggled out so quick
as limbs unhindered chanced a kick
and as escape danced its flight
his parents glanced with sweet delight
at the one who once was bound
and all answered prayers they've found.
for they had seen a battle won,
valiantly, by their son,
and in that little heart so young
a flower of wisdom grows
blooming through adversity
the little lion cub grew to be
budding oh so beautifully
with wonderment at feeling free
his courage there for all to see
