Go ahead, pull up a chair, have a meatball grinder, and chant the poem to the beat of "Oh Christmas Tree, Oh, Christmas Tree". I will not publish this poem, but I have placed this on my website to make you smile. I took the original "Oh Christmas Tree" poem and plugged in words that fit my own Italian Christmas memories.

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
the scent of pine will always blend with the  scent of  Uncle Antonio's home made wine!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Not only are you  full of life and scents in the summer, but also when the wind is bitter and when we see  light dusting of snow

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!

I think of all my Christmas dresses which my mother did sew, and all of Aunt Carmella's gifts decorated with a red bow!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
the scent of pine will always blend with the Christmas Eve seven fishes!

And Uncle Giuseppe, with his chubby cheeks,  dressed as Santa, carrying toys and my Christmas wishes

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
all of the struffoli and constagna that I always treasure,
the love of my Italian traditions I will always measure!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree,

how often has the Christmas tree made me smile,
as my relatives gathered around to eat, drink, and sing Neopolitan Christmas songs for a while!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
You bring me so much pleasure, as I think of the persimmons, lasagna, and cannoli that my heart and stomach will always treasure

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
My love of Italian traditions are in my heart, and will never fade,
I think of my aunt's Italian cookies that they made!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas tree
Aunt Carmella’s angels on the tree are filled with love,
And on each branch lay a hand made Christmas dove!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
the nativity sparkles under each light,
as the meatballs and brocciola are never far from sight,  they fill the air with their aroma all night!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Our Italian house is the best of all, and oh, how our tree always stands tall!

I remember papa yelling whenever he had to pick us up after Christmas shopping at the mall!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
From one end of the table to the other, filled with roasted peppers, prosciutto, provolone, marinated egglplant, oh how we’d eat all night!
There's only splendor for the sight.

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Every branch holds a memory, of each ornament of gold, red, and green, our tree is the most beautiful that we have seen!
Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Christmas Tree!

nonna’s home made ornaments , and oh how brightly your stars, lights and angels will shine,

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
We are blessed to have such a beautiful Christmas tree of gold, red, and green, it is part of our Italian living room scene.

I thank god for my family, friends, St. Nicola, and for you, themost beautiful tree I ever did see
O Christmas tree o Christmas tree,
Oh how you will shine so bright, we will stare at you as we eat all night,

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas tree, even if Uncle Antonio and Aunt Carmella may fight,
and our pants get a little tight,

I look at you, Christmas tree, and know my Italian family will be alright.

Joanna,

I loved this--my husband's family is exactly the same lol. The first two stanzas of this poem would make a lovely christmas card.
