Italian American Rose

Sometimes, all it takes is one single rose to help you appreciate the day.
Una rosa in neve è bella. Ha bisogno del tuo amore.

Roaring fires with flames of orange and red,

excitement igniting the stars near the ivory moon,

d elightful, decadent deserts upon the table,

r acing hearts will hear the notes of each song,

o ver and over they will be hoping for the perfect night,

s ilouhettes dancing, swaying, moving freely, without the arms of the clock moving,

e ffervescent champagne, strawberries and sugar lumps flowing in the crystal glass,

i llustrations of romance hanging on the wall with roses, laughter and falling snow,

n ever letting go, not expecting perfection from each other

t easing, joking, and reminiscing about the good times,

h appiness, sharing, and heartwarming stories,

e very smile and song will be brighter than  a million stars

s nowflakes draping their lace paths to the doorstep, covering pine trees and windows,

n ever forgetting to search for the red rose,

o pulence shows in  the sky as the stars are shining on top of the white cotton snow

w ithout a doubt, the lovers will be seeking the most beautiful red rose under the February snow.

The one red rose in the snow will remind them of the beauty of their relationship, even when they must bear the cold wind and ice together.

Each day  is about seeking the beauty or hidden treasures together, as the sights and sounds touch your heart.

If you see a rose in the snow, or other signs of simple beauty, do not walk away. Remember, something beautiful needs your love and attention every day.  May you find something beautiful on this special day, as the flames warm your heart.

una rosa in neve è bella.

HA BISOGNO  DEL TUO AMORE

Buon giorno signorina!

Hello Joanna and thank you for the beautiful poem that serves as reminder how important it is to look for the treasure within each other. Like the rose, no relationship is perfect. We could easily allow the perceived 'thorns', to cause us to miss the subtle grace of its form, the delicate and soft petals and the sweet fragrance of its perfume.

Your poem reminds us of the rich blessings that love brings.

Good health to you!
Anthony

Hi Joanna,I was amazed by what you wrote in that poem.Romance is the key to everlasting love.I live in NYC and there are a lot of romantic places.Every weekend,I would go to the park with my girlfriend where I would see views of the city skyline(Brooklyn Bridge,East River). At nighttime it is so beautiful. There is a place underneath the Manhattan Bridge inside the park where there are rocks and sand. Not a lot of people would come down there. Its sort of like a little beach in a way.I would have a radio nearby so that me and her can slow dance into the night air with love songs by Alicia Keys,Barry White,The Stylistics,The Temptations and even Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.I will read more of your poetry.
