When sorrow comes and clouds are grey,
There doesn't seem to be a way
To fill the voids that sorrow brings,
Except to search for brand new things.
At first, we have no real desire
To once again allow the fire
Of life and love to burn anew--
We must recant our point of view.
For in the midst of sorrow, friend,
The reason does not bring an end,
But rather something better still,
A fresh beginning of the "will."
The "will" to choose a different road;
To find someone to share the load;
To have a peace of heart and mind
That nowhere in this world you'll find.
For peace will come from up above;
The God of Heaven, God of Love,
Will send it to you now and then
By way of prayer, by way of friends.
