Sometimes in life it seems you find
A jewel rich and rare--
Its beauty, depth, and constant shine
Deem more than you can bear!
You want to hold it close to you,
And yet you know its gleam
Must not be hid, but put in view,
So others see it beam!
It's like the pearl that one man found,
Its value was so great--
He sold his all to buy the ground
Where this pearl lay in wait!
This poem is a parallel
Of truth, I hope you see--
For Jesus is this jewel rare,
He waits for you and me!
He wants to shine through us each day,
In word or song or deed--
To show the lost He is the way,
Fulfilling every need!
