In Honor of My 93 yr. old Daddy, Milledge Mullis, who went to be with the Lord, 5/7/07
Just look at his hands, they tell of his work
It's something he loved and never did shirk--
Daylight would find him afar down the road,
Already prepared to buy a big load!
Radiators, batt'ries, aluminum too,
Copper his fav'rite, yes all these will do!
Sometimes he would have pecans to the end,
But no matter what he's "Junk" to his friends!
Back home in the kitchen you'd find mama dear
Always in her apron and full of good cheer-
Cooking and cleaning 'most times with a song,
These chores made her happy all the day long!
She'd look out the window, there with a grin
She'd see daddy coming, truck loaded again!
Supper was ready, it never was late,
For daddy was hungry, no time to wait!
Altho' there were times when all was not good,
The love that we shared somehow has withstood.
So when we remember the good more than bad
It now makes me thankful for all that we had!
