Funny you should mention signing me up for unemployment as I just received an unemployment check I never signed up for. Funny, because I don't know if you're joking. I don't remember much of what we talked about last night. I don't recall the words but what maneuvered behind them, in front of them, and all around.

I feel lost in your Narnia closet, delusional and alive. Dear God, for once, alive. Did I whisper you to sleep or did we just not wake that day?

"I am the dreamer and you are the dream." Whitley Strieber says this to himself about aliens. Or is it the other way around? Or is it a two-way mirror? Or is it just in the movie version of his life?

This is the movie-version-equivalent of our lives, our lives together. The fullness of your words smacks of rich lifeblood and yet...only words.

Or is there no such thing as "only words?" Or maybe just the word "only" does not exist as a real-time process. Yes, that must be it for you do not mean only one thing to me.

No, you are not contained in any of these words; you are not the prisoner of my whim and fancy. This is how I know "our lives together" is what's real. It's what machinates behind, in front of, and all around your every breath.

Our every breath, uneven.
