Church With Momma

Just remembering and thanking God tat my parents were ones who not only made sure their children went to church buy were there with them all the time.

As I remember Sundays with Momma
I must start on Saturday first
"Shine your Daddy's shoes for him"
You know how special that makes him feel.

We will wash and roll your hair so nice
and get your special dress fixed right
The dress would be one she made
My momma could do just everything.

Sunday morning would get here fast
She always woke before me.
I have never figured out quite how
she knew just when I would be waking.

A grand breakfast ready for Daddy and Me
Momma don't be so busy, sit with us please
Rushing around making sure all is done
To get to Sunday School right on time.

She always taught a Sunday School class
As far back as I could remember
Three years, four years, five years old,
I just believe were her favorites.

We all went together in the only car we had
Proud was I of my Momma and Dad
I remember she once told me the first
Day I went was when I was only five days old.

What a grand Momma to take her new baby
to church when she was that young
I guess you could say
I just about grew up at my church.

My Momma loved worship, teaching and such
So if she was there so was I
I became a lover of my Lord Jesus Christ
I owe that to my sweet, sweet Momma.

My Momma and Daddy not only made sure
That I went to church to learn and worship
But they were there with me when the doors were open
side by side, singing songs of praise to the Lord.

I am so glad my Momma loved Jesus
Because now I do too.
I so glad my Momma taught me how to worship
Because now I do too.
