“The Oldie Goldie Show”

Sheri L. McGathy

Johnny was an angel
it was plain to see
Judy’s always crying
it had to be
with just a flick of my wrist
we go back through the years…just sitting back listening to the radio

Sitting back listening to the radio
D.J.’s playing the ‘Oldie Goldie Show’,
my foot starts tapping around to and fro
just sitting back listening to the radio

Simple Simon was the boss
he said listen to me
it got Windy in the street
she was hard to beat
the hermits gave up their hiding
while the raiders started riding…just sitting back listening to the radio

Sitting back listening to the radio
D.J.’s playing the ‘Oldie Goldie Show’,
my foot starts tapping around to and fro
just sitting back listening to the radio

Sitting back listening to the ‘Oldie Goldie Show’
listening to the songs that would come and go,
the years were hopping around to and fro
as I sat back listening to the radio
