She was something great you know
Once upon a time
I guess time does show
The truth behind the rhyme
She was something awesome
Surreal to many you know
I guess the time has come
To let things go
She was something else boy
More than you'd ever guess
I guess being an old toy
Is why she was thrown into this mess
She was something great you know
Once upon a time
I guess time does show
The truth behind the rhyme
She was something cool
First class cool man
But they forgot to tell her the rule
Once you swim in the ocean
You can't come back to dry land
She never learned to swim
Not very well anyway
But she had the help of Him
But I think He went away
She waited for Him for a long time
Wrote notes and said prayers
She has nade many a rhyme
But with no one has she really shared
She is still something great
Even though she realky can't see it
I don't know if she will wait
To see that there is more than this and yet
In a way it is a good thing
That she doesn't cross that path now
For waiting for what she hopes time will bring
Will hurt her more somehow
She needs to feel this pain
Just for a little while
And then begin again
Do her thing, with style
And just as the last tear falls
A smile will cross her face
As she recalls
The memories of her face
The way she used to cry
The faces that were not allowed
And the ones she made when she would lie
The ones shown with desire
The ones shown out of lust
The ones who'd light a fire
The ones that some would bust
The ones that worked for you
The ones that worked for them
The ones that she can still do
The ones she wants to do again
The ones that make your day
The ones that bring it down
The ones of yesterday
The ones that make some drown
The ones that make you cringe
The ones that you hate
The ones from the binge
The ones you would debate
The ones of love
The ones of hope
The ones from above
The ones that help her cope
The ones she fakes
The ones she hides
The ones she takes
The ones she rides
The ones you miss
The ones you kill
The ones you would kiss
The ones you would steal
The ones she needs
The ones they want
The ones that plead
The ones that are blunt
The ones from then
The ones from now
All of those ones
But anyhow
She would think of those faces
And places she's been
Her mind as it traces
Things from back when
And she would pull herself out
From this place of gloom
You'd wonder what it was about
Til she came back from her room
Smiling and laughing, carrying on
You'd wonder what the hell happened
While you were gone
It doesn't matter really
What you don't understand
Just be happy for her
She held her hand out of the water
And said look as you watched the sand
Drying in the sun
I have a piece of dry land see
Look what I've become
I am not you, I am me
I am smarter than you
I've broken the rule
What now will you do
Try throwing me back in the stool
YOu can't go back to dry land
Is that what you say
Maybe but you dont understand
The ignorance behind your ways
I know I can't go back
But it is always here
I am not so off track
I am not filled with fear
I belive it is out there
This land I hold in my hand
Was dry once
Don't you understand
Do you understand her insanity
The way she thinks sometimes
Sometimes it confuses me
But I see alot of that in her rhymes
Her pains and glories
Her turh and sometimes lies
Behind her songs and stories
It hurts me to see her this way
She hasn't been like this in so long
But you know what today
I think that could be a little wrong
A little off
I don't know
I've her cry and cough
I've seen the things she doesn't think will show
I think she's been hurting for a long time
I mean this time around
I don't know maybe she'll write another rhyme
And I'll see how it seems to sound
It's not that hard you know
To understand the lines in between
Sometimes it is though
I think you know what I mean
Anyway she was something great
SHe will always be great to me
Go ahead and debate
The things you can't see
If you want to
But I dont' think you will
I think you know what she goes through
And I think you know what is real
Hey look, she's back again
Let's go join her over there
Come on, I'm her friend
Even if you don't care
Yeah I guess you're right
They always say three is a crowd
Don't worry she won't fight
If you're honest out loud
Ok well my little memoir is done
Have a nice day
Hope you have fun
Don't stay away
With this rhyme I'm done
