When we finally come together, how well do our colors mix?

Mixed Colors

I could smile at you
mourning over my edges frayed
lingering on the beautiful side of fabric torn
all the holes in my delicate lace
assure antiquity is more eloquent
if not less forlorn
across my gossamer face.

Wisdom lived here
even if ever briefly
within grains of sensuous corduroy
searched the hemline for answers
fingered velvet textiles
softened my inner alloy
gathered in beaded disarray
weaving passion to employ.

Our patterns commit to color
interchangeable, reconciling ~
hues and tints coincide
forcing differences to confide
blending opposite shade
beneath subtle tendrils beguiling
hope bleeds over
that this rare union of our fusion
shall never fade.
