(A ballad of sorts. Any simularity to persons alive, dead, or in between is purely coincidental.)

1.  I chase ghost lights
     through a dream
     where nothin's ever
     as it seems.
     A shadow drifting
     thru my mind
     leaves desire
     burning behind.

chorus:  As the raven flies--
               As the raven flies--

2.  Like a phantom
     She steals away
     running from the
     light of day.
     Like the echoes
     of love's song,
     when I awaken,
     she's always gone.

            As the raven flies--
            As the raven flies--

3.   Parts of her
      are illusion,
      and other parts
      are real.
      What we have
      burns too briefly--
      A fire fed by
      need and fear--

           As the raven flies--
           As the raven flies--
           As the raven flies--  (fade)
           As the raven flies--

Awesome post. I read your "profile" I think sometimes, we think we are born to break the rules, that's what they were made for, sounds strange, but at one time or another, we live on the brink, just to see what we can conquer, and the thrill of living.

As the straight as the crow flies....sombre and brooding piece

through a dream
where nothin's ever
as it seems. "
