I tried.

Good Intentions

By Jim Stewart c 2008

I woke  up with good intentions

Of Cleaning out the garage today

But, tomorrow might be a better day.

I woke up early

Put on some coffee

Now I'm on my way.

Honey, Can you take out the trash?

You know he gets here early

It will only take a minute.

So I took out the trash

all four bags.

Now I'm back on track.

Daddy, can you fix my bike?

I need to go to the library.

It will only take a minute.

So I fix the bike

And put air in the tires

Now I'm back on track.

Son, can you help me with my car?

It's not running right.

It should take very long.

So I fix the car

And was it too.

Now I'm back on track.

It's twelve o'clock

I guess I'll take a break

It shouldn't take but a minute or two.

So I drink my tea

And eat my sandwich

Now I'm back on the right track.

Honey, can you help me for a sec?

I just can't reach that box.

It shouldn't take but a minute or two.

So I get the box

And carry it to the den

Now I'm on the right track again.

Daddy, can you take me to band practice?

I really need to go.

It shouldn't take to long.

So I load up the car

And took her to practice.

Now I'm on the right road.

Hey Neighbor, can you help me a sec?

I need to push this car to the back.

It shouldn't take but a sec.

So I pushed the car

All the way to the back

Now I got to get back to the right track.

Well it's six o'clock

Where did the time go?

I didn't get to the garage at all.

Well, I woke up with good intentions this morning

Of cleaning out the garage

But, Tomorrow could be a better day.

You are so needed by everyone in your life each day. Making time for them is so much more important than cleaning out the garage. Another day for that when times does allow that. You are a super dad, husband and personable friend to all. Keep it up, God will reward you greatly.

And so it goes, right. Goes to show that everytime you plan on doing something, everything else has a knack of getting in the way, but yes there is always tomorrow....

Be always safe,
Karen
