LLUVIA por Susana Roberts, Argentina

Poema premiado en el Chaco(Argentina).SADE
Sent: Wednesday, October 05, 2005 10:00:37 PM

 la lluvia intranquila

parece ser definitiva en sus registros

como gesto crónico

de destruir lo que escribimos

empeñada en borrar esa tristeza

la pena quiso pegarse

a los costados ásperos de la piel

pienso, tal vez se despegue

me deje ver por la ventana

el carril del tren,

el pijama mojado en el patio

recomponer canciones viejas

soy agua de río

cerrado por la melancolía

que nos frena a tiempo

la ausencia de las manos,

el abrazo

estoy perdida en esta ciudad

es como romper la emoción y darla vuelta

se escucha el tren

me acerco a la ventana

ha cesado la lluvia

el sentimiento acumula otro registro

será narrar, romper, anotar

hoy no me sale

será que llueve

seguro que mañana

el sol vuelve

porque hoy la lluvia,

la lluvia es despareja.

Could not translate the "despareja" but figure it must mean something like frustration. Traquil rains, appearing gentle but relentlessly registering and changing the face of the mind as well as the surface of the earth.

And you write about it. . . beautiful thoughts.

I hope the translation was correct.
